Low-Level Laser Hair Therapy

Laser Hair Therapy Cures Hair Loss?

Typically, we think of lasers as a way to get rid of unwanted hair. High-intensity light damages the follicles, ceasing hair production. But, as it turns out, lasers can also have the opposite effect. Studies have shown that low-level laser hair therapy can actually stimulate follicles and accelerate hair growth. So how exactly can lasers be used to regrow hair and is it a viable cure for baldness?

How Low-Level Laser Hair Therapy Works

Although it seems like your hair is constantly growing, the hair growth cycle actually consists of three distinct phases: growth, resting, and shedding. Most hair loss occurs after the shedding phase when follicles fail to reproduce hairs. Due to possible catalysts, such as dihydrotestosterone (a testosterone derivative known as DHT) or alopecia, follicles will sometimes enter the resting phase and shut down entirely, resulting in widespread thinning and baldness.

Fortunately, low-level laser hair therapy can work to correct this problem. The photons within the laser infuse the follicles with energy, reanimating them from their dormant state. Once the follicles are working properly again, they go back to producing new hairs, effectively reversing the hair loss.

Low-level laser hair therapy can be an effective way to treat a number of different types of hair loss. So far, there is evidence to suggest that the procedure can work for androgenic alopecia, a common type of hair loss that affects more than 70% of men and 40% of women. Additionally, low-level laser hair therapy is also effective against alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that results in the immune system mistakenly attacking hair follicles.

How Does Low-Level Laser Hair Therapy Stack Up to the Competition?

Currently, two of the most popular treatments for hair loss are over-the-counter staples Rogaine and Propecia. While these options have been proven to be effective for some patients, they do have their drawbacks. These medications only result in a limited amount of regrowth. Also, they need to be taken habitually in order to be effective. In the case of Rogaine, the positive effects can sometimes stop entirely without warning. Alternatively, hair transplantation tends to be a more successful form of restoration, but it can be time-consuming and expensive.

If you’re looking for a different way to regrow your hair, consider giving low-level laser hair therapy a try. Feel free to contact Advanced Hair Transplants via phone at (888) 923-7497 or via email at lee@advancedhairtransplants.com.

What does a hair transplant cost?

LASER MAN 1

What does a hair transplant cost?

If you are considering a hair transplant to cover your thinning or balding scalp, you’re probably wondering what it will cost. Cost is typically an important part of your decision making process, however it should not totally govern your final decision.

The old adage, ‘you get what you pay for’ is something to consider with hair transplant surgery. If you’re going bald, and you can’t imagine yourself with a shaved head, the cost for a hair transplant may be well worth the money you invest.

This being said, you want the most bang for your buck.  And, the bang for your buck in this scenario is about getting as much density as possible for the money you spend on a hair transplant.

At Advanced Hair Transplants, we offer patients all proven solutions to fix hair loss including FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant), FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and our trademarked MAX DENSITY® hair restoration procedure.  Hair transplant cost is based on the amount of hair that must be moved, and the procedure chosen (FUT, FUE or MAX DENSITY®) for your individual need.

Our Board Certified Hair Restoration surgeons will give you a recommendation with regard to which procedure is best for you. If your hair is short, the FUE procedure may be your best bet, and if it’s longer, you might choose MAX DENSITY®.

The cost of your hair transplant procedure will depend on the type of procedure you choose: FUT, FUE, MAX DENSITY, FACIAL HAIR RESTORATION (Beards, goatees, eyebrows, sideburns, mustaches, etc). Each procedure is unique and has a different price based on factors including the size of the session, number of grafts, time involved, and number of technicians assisting the doctor.

Advanced Hair Transplants offers Complimentary ‘In Person’ Consultations, or you can submit photos for an ‘Online Review’ by one of our Board Certified Hair Restoration Surgeons.  To find out your hair transplant cost, please call Lee at (888) 923-7497 or send an email to lee@advancedhairtransplants.com. You can also reach out to Gene at (925) 918-7360 or email him at gene@advancedhairtransplants.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hair Transplant Cost

How much does a hair transplant cost?

GRAFTS - 1,2,3,4

Most doctors will charge you by the graft.  Charging by the graft has been the ‘Gold Standard’ for hair restoration surgery. The problem with charging by the graft is that it can be deceptive because most people don’t know how many hairs are in a graft.  If a doctor says he will transplant 1000 grafts, what does that mean?  Are you getting a thousand 1 hair grafts, a thousand 2 hair grafts or a thousand 3 hair grafts or a thousand multi-follicular unit grafts that will have 6-8 hairs per graft?

If a doctor is honest and ‘doing the right thing’ for the patient, he will transplant the grafts as they grow in their natural state.  In other words, if a graft is 3 hairs, that graft is not cut into three 1 hair grafts and you are not charged three times the amount. If the hair transplant cost is $5 per graft, then a 1 hair graft, 2 hair graft, or 3 hair graft is $5.  Make sense?

At Advanced Hair Transplants, our surgeons give you the maximum amount of hair in one procedure based on your donor density and scalp flexibility. We do not dissect larger grafts into smaller ones and charge you more money like some of the unscrupulous doctors on our industry. Our hair transplant cost is the same as our competitors, however, we give you more hair in one procedure!

AHT2-5

We offer the trademarked MAX DENSITY® procedure which gives you more density in one surgery when compared to the typical pay-by-the graft procedure. Our surgeon meticulously measures the donor hair that will be removed. Based on average hair density, a person will have 200 hairs per 1 sq. cm. of hair.  If the doctor removes 30 sq. cm. of hair, it will yield approximately 6000 hairs.  With this procedure, the hair transplant cost is based on the amount of hair moved. A MAX DENSITY® procedure gives you a fair hair transplant cost and a better final result!

If you are having hair loss issues, your best option is to see a ‘Board Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon’. Dr. Marko and Dr. Holzer fall into this category, and they work with hair restoration patients and hair transplant surgery every day, Our doctors can recommend prescription / non-prescription medications like Propecia (Finasteride), Rogaine (Minoxidil) or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) that can help slow or stop the hair loss.

It is extremely important that you take the step first and see a doctor. The longer you wait, the more hair loss you will experience. With prevention therapy (pills, topicals, lasers) you are taking a giant step to keep the hair you still have. Preventative The goal is to not lose your original hair. These therapies might not create the result you want for your bald spot, and you might need more hair to cover it.

Bottom line: You want to keep all the hair you have on your head, and if you have areas that are too thin or bald, you should consider a hair transplant procedure in our Charlotte, Las Vegas or San Francisco (Bay Area) Surgical Center.

Our doctor will analyze your hair loss and give you his recommendation, If your loss isn’t much, you can start a preventative therapy to not lose any more hair. If you can’t deal with the bald spot and need it filled-in, then it’s time for a hair transplant procedure in our Charlotte, Las Vegas or Pleasanton, CA surgical center.

Dr. Marko created the trademarked MAX DENSITY® Whorl Procedure. This unique and advanced cosmetic procedure offers ‘thicker hair and more density’ in one procedure when compared to the typical pay-by-the-graft hair transplant procedure. A MAX DENSITY® hair transplant is extremely effective for any area of the scalp, and especially the crown area (Bald spot).

The MAX DENSITY® Whorl Procedure offers a natural looking hair pattern. Follicles are angled and transplanted in a spiraling direction which emulates your original hair pattern before you lost it. This technique combines placing the maximum amount of micro and multi-follicular unit grafts in the crown area going bald.

Grafts are artistically transplanted with as much density as possible. Scabs (crusts) are gone in a week. In a few months, the bald spot will start to disappear because your transplanted hair is growing. Your bald spot is filling in with your own natural growing hair!

If you are looking for a hair transplant to fill-in your bald spot, give Advanced Hair Transplants a call at (888) 923-7497.
